Howard C. Kattine, age 93 of Georgetown, Ohio died Monday, March 11, 2019 at Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, Ohio. Mr. Kattine was a graduate of Georgetown High School and an auto parts salesman for Autowize in Maysville, Kentucky. He served in the United States Army during World War II. During his military service, he spent time in a German prison camp as a prisoner of war and received a Purple Heart medal after being wounded. Mr. Kattine was born March 16, 1925 in Russellville, Ohio the son of the late Howard Bradford Kattine and Ruth (Thalman) Kattine Kestel. He was also preceded in death by one son – Bruce Kattine, one sister – Marlene Pittman and one brother – Donald Kattine.
Mr. Kattine is survived by his wife of sixty-six years – Carol (Brown) Kattine, whom he married July 5, 1952; four daughters – Tara Lierman and husband Denny of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, Nancy Kattine of Sardinia, Ohio, Gail Waters and husband Bob of Russellville, Ohio and Teresa Hensley and husband Greg of Felicity, Ohio; one son – Bret Kattine and wife Nancy of Georgetown, Ohio; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Chaplain Bill Graybill will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery with veterans services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180.
