James Clinton Godby

James Clinton Godby, age 78 of Ripley, Ohio died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, Kentucky. Mr. Godby was retired from the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and a member of the Shinkles Ridge Christian Church. He was born on May 21, 1932 in Mt. Olivet, Kentucky the son of the late Clark and Lucy Blanche (Anderson) Godby. He was also preceded in death by one grandson - Robert Cox.

Mr. Godby is survived by three daughters - Cindy Johnson of Ripley, Ohio, Lisa Walker and husband Charles of Ripley, Ohio and Dawn Godby of Higginsport, Ohio; one son - Michael Godby of Ripley, Ohio; nine grandchildren - Jamie Johnson and wife Jessica, Chad Johnson and wife Teresa, Justin Johnson, Christina Davis, Carissa Davis, Cynthia Cox, Tiffany Meyer, Stephanie White and Jennifer Godby; thirteen great grandchildren; one brother - Clark Godby and wife Donna of Georgetown, Ohio and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Georgetown Church of Christ, 149 Hamer Road, Georgetown, Ohio. Jason Galley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Interment will be in the Shinkles Ridge Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
