James Lawrence Hicks, age 70 of Mt. Orab, Ohio, died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at his residence. He was a retired accountant. Mr. Hicks was born January 17, 1946 in Charleston, West Virginia the son or the late Harold P. and Sara G. (Allen) Hicks.
Mr. Hicks is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years – Brenda (Laypool) Hicks; one son – James Allen Hicks (Pamela) of Georgia; two stepdaughters – Tina Daniel (Mike) of Goshen, Ohio and Rebecca Arnold (Chad) of Mt. Orab, Ohio; two grandchildren – Caitlin and Christopher Hicks; eight step grandchildren – Miranda and Matthew Arnold, Chastity, Dylan and Kylie Hardymon, Michael, Brandon and Sarah Daniel; one sister – Jane Oseth (Kevin) of Maryland and one brother – Steve Hicks of Maryland.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Jim Webb will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday. Interment will follow the memorial service in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio.
