James Ashford Watson, age 74 of Hamersville, Ohio died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Southwest Regional Medical Center in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a Machinist for AK LeBlond, a farmer, former Brown County Sheriff Deputy in the early 1970’s, former Brown County 911 Communications dispatcher, member of the Grant Trace Antique Tractor Association and the Ohio Valley Antique Machinery Association and a lifetime member of the Milford Councel #359 of the Jr. OUAM. Jim was born April 24, 1940 in Hamersville, Ohio the son of the late Carl E. and Martha (Fryman) Watson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Bonetta (McIntosh) Watson and two sisters – Nancy and Cindy Watson.
Mr. Watson is survived by six children – Barbara Waugh and husband Harlan of Hamersville, Ohio, David Watson and wife Dawn of Georgetown, Ohio, Douglas Watson and wife Julie and Jeffrey Watson all of Hamersville, Ohio, William Leon Watson of Georgetown, Ohio and Patrick Aaron Watson and wife Tracy of Mt.Orab, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren – Jason Watson and fiancé Janelle of Milford, Ohio, Amy Shumaker and husband Nick of Wilmington, Ohio, Brian Watson and wife Monika of Sardinia, Ohio, Diane Kattine and husband Jordan of Georgetown, Ohio, Jordan Watson of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Dustin Watson and wife Samantha of Amelia, Ohio, Hayley and Meranda Watson, Danny and Amanda Watson all of Hamersville, Ohio, Angela Mendenhall of Georgetown, Ohio, Brooke and Nicholas Watson of Owensville, Ohio, Ethan Hardy of Georgetown, Ohio and Katlin and Andrew Watson of Mt.Orab, Ohio; four great grandchildren – Hunter and Hayden Shumaker and Kaydon and Kayleigh Watson; one brother – Kenny Watson and wife Coleen of Arizona; two sisters – Jo Ann Gavula and Kathy Jacobs and husband George all of Hamersville, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Clark Castle will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
