Jesse Lee Smith, age 90 of Hamersville, Ohio, died Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Hospice of Cincinnati in Anderson Township. He was born on July 30, 1918 the son of the late Oliver Price and Carrie Lee (Williamson) Smith. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Jean Cahall; one brother, William "Bud" Smith and two sisters - Rachel Greer and Mary Ann Wilkinson.

Mr. Smith was a retired Civil Engineer and a founding partner of McGill and Smith. He was a U.S. Army Air Force WWII Veteran, where he served as a captain, a B-17 pilot and a squadron commander. Mr. Smith was also active in the community. He was a member of The F&AM Masonic Lodge #61 of Bethel, Ohio, a member of The Scottish Rite and a member of the Hamersville Church of Christ, where he served as an elder and taught in Sunday school. He also served on the Board of Directors for The First Clermont Bank and also later when it became Park National Bank. He served on the Board of Directors of Chatfield College and was named Pacesetter of the Year by The Clermont Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Smith is survived by one daughter, Kathi Gee and husband Jon of Hamersville, Ohio; two sons - Randy Smith and wife Diana of Ripley, Ohio and Steve Smith and wife Glenna of Hamersville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Hazel Newton of Loveland, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 8, 2008 at The Hamersville Church of Christ. Rev. Tom Friskney will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, December 7 at the church. Interment will be in Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to The Hamersville Church of Christ, 203 E. Main Street, Hamersville, Ohio 45130.
