Joe William Hiatt

Joe William Hiatt, age 76 of Ripley, Ohio died Friday, January 18, 2008 at the Meadowview Regional Hospital in Maysville, Kentucky. Mr. Hiatt was an entrepreneuer, a member of the Ripley Lions Club, a former president of the economic development and save our buildings committees in Ripley. He was born on September 13, 1931 in Miamisburg, Ohio the son of the late Joe and Mary Alma (Fairrell) Hiatt. He was also preceded in death by one brother, George Hiatt and two sisters, Flora Mae Hiatt and Vera Mudd.

Mr. Hiatt is survived by his wife - Robin (Spiller) Hiatt; seven children - Julia Laughland and husband Ronald of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; David Hiatt and wife Debi of Las Vegas, Nevada; Kathryn Nelson and husband Philip of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Charles Hiatt of Kettering, Ohio; Jeff Tyree and wife Carole of Winnetka, California and Abigail and Olivia Hiatt both of Ripley, Ohio; six grandchildren - Michael Hiatt and wife Lindsey of Durham, North Carolina; Brian Hiatt of San Rafael, California; Rachael Richardson and husband Charles of Nashville, Tennessee; Rosanne Runyeon of Charleston, South Carolina and Aidan and Sienna Tyree both of Winnetka, California and two brothers - Glenn and Charles Hiatt both of Miamisburg, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Pastor Ronald W. Laughland will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the Abigail and Olivia Hiatt Children's Trust, in care of Oak Hill Banks, 101 Main Street, Ripley, Ohio 45167.
