John Thomas "Tom" Bennett, age 86 of Georgetown, Ohio, formerly of Ripley, Ohio, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was retired from Milacron, a United States WW II Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post #705 and a member and deacon at the First Baptist Church in Ripley, Ohio. Tom was born February 4, 1923 in Ripley, Ohio, the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Adams) Bennett. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son - John Richard Bennett; three brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Ann (Ferguson) Bennett, whom he married December 22, 1951; four children - Ann Pillow and husband Dan of Addyston, Ohio; Jackie Gardner of Columbus, Ohio; Dorella "Gigi" Grant and husband Tommy of Georgetown, Ohio and James Bennett of Lebanon, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one sister - Audrey Rice of Georgetown, Ohio and one sister-in-law - Minnie Bennett of Ripley, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Arthur Bell with officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the church. Interment will be in the Red Oak Cemetery near Ripley, Ohio.
