John Brenton Eckstein, Jr. age 66 of Fayetteville, Ohio passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born August 23, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late John B. and Mary Juanita (Jackson) Eckstein, Sr. As a self-employed construction professional, John built not just structures but lasting relationships with his clients and colleagues. Friends admired his dedication to quality and craftsmanship, which were evident in every project he undertook. His passion for his work mirrored his zest for life, whether he was riding his beloved Harley, traversing the open road with enthusiasm, or spending moments in nature hunting. John enjoyed a myriad of interests, notably coin collecting, which brought him a profound appreciation for history and heritage. His travels took him to various places, where he made unforgettable memories and connections. Each journey reflected his adventurous spirit and curiosity about the world. Affectionately known for his love of animals, John was a devoted companion to his two cherished fur babies, Lilly Lou and Blue Bell. They brought joy and comfort into his life and were a constant reminder of the unconditional love only pets can provide. In addition to his professional accomplishments and hobbies, John played an active role in the Wanderers Motorcycle Club, where he served as the Vice President. Driven by camaraderie and a shared love for motorcycles, he forged friendships that enriched his life and created a second family among fellow club members. John will be remembered for his generous heart, spirited personality, and the remarkable way he touched the lives of those around him. His legacy will live on through the memories of family and friends who were fortunate to have shared their lives with him. Besides his father in 2007 and mother in 2020, he was preceded in death by one brother – Joseph Eckstein.
Mr. Eckstein is survived by one brother – Bruce Eckstein, Sr. and wife Diana of Fayetteville, Ohio; one nephew – Bruce Eckstein, Jr. and wife Amber of Erlanger, Kentucky; one niece – Tia Eckstein and Cody Stegman of Fayetteville, Ohio; one great niece – Addison Stegman of Fayetteville, Ohio; companion – Susan Warf of Georgetown, Ohio and his fur babies – Lilly Lou and Blue Bell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 130 Stone Alley, Fayetteville, Ohio. Fr. Cordonnier will be the celebrant. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the church. The Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio is serving the family.
