John Charles Speed

John Charles Speed, age 78 of Ripley, Ohio, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley. He was retired from General Motors. He was also a member of St. Michael Church in Ripley and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Speed was born December 8, 1935 in St. Bernard, Ohio the son of the late Thomas B. and Marie C. (Meyer) Speed. He was also preceded in death by his first wife - Marilyn J. Speed; one sister - Ruth Willer; two brothers - Thomas and Mick Speed; one stepdaughter - Laura Moffett and one step grandson - Anthony Yockey.

Mr. Speed is survived by his loving wife of twenty nine years - Marianne (Trapp) Speed; five children - Stephanie Bishop of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Mark Speed and wife Kandice of Beavercreek, Ohio, Kerry Speed and wife Karen of Melbourne, Florida, Kristie Scheek of Kingman, Arizona and Jennifer Krack and husband Randy of Miamisburg, Ohio; seven step children - Pat McMahon and wife Pam of Cincinnati, Ohio, Julie Blackburn of Ripley, Ohio, Rick Blackburn of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael Blackburn of Ripley, Ohio, Brian Blackburn of Ripley, Ohio, Chad Blackburn of Ripley, Ohio and Carrie Sprague and husband Joey of Cincinnati, Ohio; eighteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister - Eileen Fiebig of Maineville, Ohio and one brother - Don Speed of Fairfield, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Dohrman Byers will be the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley.
