Joseph R. Hauke

Joseph Roland Hauke, age 71, previously of Congress Street in Ripley, Ohio died on Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Maysville Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility. He was a factory worker, fuel truck driver, farmer, volunteer fireman, and member of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Joe was born on September 15, 1937, in Ripley, Ohio, son of the late Joseph Michael andA Mildred (Brown) Hauke.A

He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Bobbie Jean (Hamilton) Hauke. He was also preceeded in death by two brothers, Paul Hauke and Phil Hauke, both of Ripley. He is survived by two daughters and one son - Debbie Schwallie of Ripley,Ohio; Janet Garrison and her husband Danny of Minerva, Kentucky, and Joey Hauke and his wife Sue of Maysville, Kentucky; and eight grand children - Brian Schwallie, Brad Schwallie, Christian Schwallie, Morgan Schwallie, Landon Garrison, Dylan Garrison, Sarah Jones, and Emily Hauke. Joe is also survived by two brothers - Floyd (Butch) Hauke and wife Twilla and Charles (Mutt) Hauke; one sister - Ruth Ann Shiveley and husband John; three sisters-in-law - Margaret Hauke, Angela Hauke, and Marie Hamilton and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Joe retired from the U.S. Shoe Factory in Ripley and the Georgetown Oil Company (owned by the late Sherrill and Dorothy Watson).A After retirement, he became more involved with farming on a full-time basis. He was a strong supporter and captain of the Ripley Fire Department forA over 30 years.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 P.M. on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Ripley. FatherA James Schmitmeyer will be the Celebrant. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ripley Fire Department.
