Joseph William Schumacher

Joseph William Schumacher, age 87 of Ripley, Ohio died Monday, July 14, 2008 at the Adams County Hospital in Seaman, Ohio. Mr. Schumacher was a farmer, a World War II Army veteran and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. He was born on March 25, 1921 in Ripley, Ohio the son of the late Will and Mayme (Griener) Schumacher. He was also preceded in death by one son, Steven Schumacher, three sisters, Lucille, Clementine and Roberta Schumacher and three brothers, Sylvester, John and Jerome Schumacher.
Mr. Schumacher is survived by his wife of sixty-two years - Lucille (Conn) Schumacher, whom he married on May 11, 1946; one son - Billie Ray Schumacher of Ripley, Ohio; five grandchildren - Barbara, Christie, Vanessa, Brandie and Cody; nine great grandchildren and two sisters - Loretta Lang and Lela Laycock both of Ripley, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Fr. James Schmitmeyer will be the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio with veteran services by the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367. If desired, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Hope, 215 Hughes Boulevard, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154.
