J.W. West

J.W. West, age 82 of Russellville, Ohio died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at his residence. Mr. West operated the West Trucking Company for many years. He was a farmer, a World War II Navy Veteran, a marketing recorder for the Ripley tobacco market for the ASCS, a member of the Brown County Board of Elections for thirty years, Brown County Democratic Chairman for twenty years, a member of the Russellville American Legion and the Russellville United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Ohio Valley Antique Machinery Association, an avid collector of antique John Deere tractors, a member of the Zane Trace Car Club and was a lifetime member of the U.S. Grant Trail Antique Machinery Club. Mr. West was born in Russellville, Ohio on January 9, 1922 the son of the late Earl and Grace (Baird) West.

Mr. West is survived by his wife - Virginia (Davis) West; two sons - Ronnie West and wife Myrtle of Russellville, Ohio and Dave West and wife Beverly of Russellville, Ohio; one daughter - Linda Whalen and husband, Randy of Russellville, Ohio; 4 grandchildren - Tammy Wenninger, Gigi Pack, Jason Reynolds and Jennifer West; 7 step grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 22, 2004 at the Russellville United Methodist Church in Russellville, Ohio. Rev. Jaime Wirth will officiate. Visitation will be 5 - 9 P.M. Saturday evening at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Interment will be in Linwood Cemetery in Russellville.
