Kathy Hanselman, age 68 of Georgetown, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri surrounded by the love of her family. She was born April 7, 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of the late Joseph and Daisy (Farrell) McGuffey. Kathy retired from American Modern Insurance Group in Amelia, Ohio and was a lifelong member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Georgetown Chapter #2293, where she formed many lasting friendships. Above all else, Kathy’s family was her world and her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with them, whether cheering them on at sporting and school events, spending time together at home or simply enjoying the everyday moments she treasured. Kathy cherished every moment she shared with her grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow. She especially looked forward to the family’s annual beach vacations, which were among her favorite times of the year. The beach was her favorite place to be, surrounded by the people she loved most. Her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, was evident in everything she did and the memories she created with them will be cherished forever. Besides her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by one brother – Bill McGuffey.

Ms. Hanselman is survived by her loving daughter – Jen Thieme and husband Michael of Marshall, Missouri; her greatest loves of her life, three grandchildren – Abby Brierly and partner Ben Carver, Levi Manning and Lilly Jo Miller all of Marshall, Missouri; one sister – Candy Wilson of Georgetown, Ohio; two brothers – Jeff McGuffey and wife Tina of Georgetown, Ohio and Sam McGuffey and wife Toni of Papillion, Nebraska; one sister-in-law -Janet McGuffey of North Bend, Ohio; twelve nieces and nephews – Ryan McGuffey and wife Jessica, Alaine McGuffey and David Ellison, Mike McGuffey and wife Tess, Seth Wilson, Kaitlyn Duffey and Kyle Livengood, Martina Newman, Sarah Hunter and husband Christopher, Maggie Shreffler and husband Eli, Courtney McGuffey, Travis McGuffey, Keith McGuffey and wife Megan and Bri Collison and husband Phil and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M - 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
