Kimball W. Barr

Kimball “Kim” Wayne Barr, age 74 of Batavia, Ohio passed away Monday, September 21, 2026 at his son’s residence surrounded by the love of his family. He was born September 27, 1951 in Flint, Michigan the son of the late David Albert and Janet Elaine (Ostrander) Barr. Kim was a retired truck driver and an avid reader who found great enjoyment and inspiration in the written word. He especially admired the works of Walt Whitman, whose poetry held special meaning to him. Kim can be best remembered through the words of his favorite author, Walt Whitman, whose poem “Continuities” beautifully reflects the enduring nature of life, the changing seasons and the lasting presence of all that we hold dear:

“Nothing is ever really lost, or can be lost, 

No birth, identity, form—no object of the world. 

Nor life, nor force, nor any visible thing; 

Appearance must not foil, nor shifted sphere confuse thy brain. 

Ample are time and space—ample the fields of Nature. 

The body, sluggish, aged, cold—the embers left from earlier fires, 

The light in the eye grown dim shall duly flame again; 

The sun now low in the west rises for mornings and for noons continual; 

To frozen clods ever the spring’s invisible law returns, 

With grass and flowers and summer fruits and corn.”

Though Kim is no longer with us, the love he shared, the memories he created and the moments he gave to those around him will never be lost. His life touched the hearts of many and his memory will remain a cherished part of the lives of all who knew and loved him. Besides his parents, Kim was preceded in death by one brother – Jim Barr and one sister – Patty Barr.

Mr. Barr is survived by one son – Orion Barr and wife Amie of Mt.Orab, Ohio; three grandchildren – Nolan Barr, Blake Barr and Isabella Barr and fiancé Kaleb Franklin all of Mt.Orab, Ohio; two brothers – Scott Barr and wife Patty and Dave Barr and wife Joann both of Clio, Michigan; one sister – Charlotte Clark and husband Richard of Duran, Michigan and many nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Cahall Funeral Home in Mt.Orab, Ohio is serving the family.
