Larry Scott Lindsey

Larry S. Lindsey, age 63 of Hamersville, Ohio died Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Mt. Orab Medical Center in Mt. Orab, Ohio. He was a 1968 graduate of Hamersville High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture, economics and education from Wilmington College. Larry was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for thirty-three years mostly at the Hamersville Post Office. He was a United States Army veteran and a farmer. He was involved in many organizations including the Brown County Historical Society, a current trustee of the Brown County Genealogical Society, the Ohio Genealogical Society, the Ohio Valley Antique Machinery Association, the Ohio and National Cattleman Associations, the Ohio and National Rural Letter Carriers Associations, the Ohio and American Simmental Association, a 4-H advisor for the Hamersville Livestock 4-H club and a former member of the Brown County Cattleman Association. He was born January 29, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Gerald Wayne and Helen D. (Stiers) Lindsey.

Mr. Lindsey is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years – Mary J. (Watson) Lindsey, whom he married October 16, 1974; one daughter – Stephanie R. Dyer and husband Charles “Andy” of Hamersville, Ohio; one son- Christopher P. Stiers of Georgetown, Ohio; two grandchildren – Trace and Rylyn Dyer; two step grandchildren – Zachary and Savannah Stiers; one step-great grandchild – Cayleigh Terry; two sisters – Patricia Cornett and husband Kirby of Hamersville, Ohio and Beverly Cropper and husband David “Sam” of Georgetown, Ohio; his mother-in-law – Virginia Watson of Wahlsburg, Ohio; two brothers-in-law – George Watson of Georgetown, Ohio and Michael Watson and wife Denise of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister-in-law – Ginger Lui and husband Steve of Lake Forest, California and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Georgetown Church of Christ, 149 Hamer Road, Georgetown, Ohio. Scott Hennig will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery with veterans services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
