Leon W. Ellis

Leon W. Ellis, age 84 of Ripley, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a United States Navy WW II Veteran and a member of the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180 of Georgetown, Ohio. Mr. Ellis was farmer and owned and operated Ellis Realty in Georgetown, Ohio from 1977 until his retirement in 1990. He was born on August 5, 1924 in Brown Co., Ohio, the son of the late Albert and Naomi (Biehn) Ellis
Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife of 59 A½ years, Nancy J. (Stivers) Ellis; a sister-in-law, Patricia Smithson of Montgomery, Alabama; three nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 6, 2009 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. James Schmitmeyer will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Shinkle's Ridge Cemetery, Georgetown, Ohio. Memorials may be made to: The American Heart Association or The Alzheimer's Association.
