Louis Koewler

Louis A. Koewler, 79, of Matthews, North Carolina, passed away on December 1, 2016. He was born in Ripley, Ohio, December 28, 1936 to the late Marion and Helen Koewler. He graduated in 1972 with his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati.

Mr. Koewler is survived by his wife of 53 years, Claire Patricia "Pat" Murphy and their children; son Jim and wife Karen, children Ali and Meg; daughter Jean and husband Kyle Vandewater, children Caitlin, Bailey, Riley, and Hadley; son Rob, children Maddie and Ellie, and special friend Allison; and son Andy; as well as two sisters Rose Rockey and Louise Hauck.

Lou had a successful career in sales and marketing. In retirement he was an active member of his homeowners association as well as bridge, poker, dominoes and breakfast groups. He attended St. Luke Catholic Church, where a service was held in his honor on December 7, 2016.

Lou had a passion for traveling with Pat to visit family members and especially their grandchildren.  He enjoyed driving everywhere they went and planned everything on spreadsheets and matrixes.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Arnheim, Ohio, with a visitation held at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery. Following the services a reception will be held at St. George Catholic Church in Georgetown, Ohio. All are welcome to attend.
