Lowell Dyke Miller, age 78 of Worthington, Kentucky, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, Ohio. He was a retired Finance Officer for American General Insurance, a United States Army Veteran, a member of the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 of Ripley, Ohio and was a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Miller loved University of Kentucky Basketball and was an avid golfer. He was loved by everyone that knew him. Mr. Miller was born March 27, 1937 in Levanna, Ohio the son of the late Robert R. and Mary Francis (Morris) Miller. He was also preceded in death by one sister – Myrtie Vaughn; two brothers – George and Richard Miller.
Mr. Miller is survived by one daughter – Michelle (Miller) Hampton and husband Doug of Vanceburg, Kentucky; one son Lowell Dyke Miller, II of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren – Clay Hampton of Vanceburg, Kentucky and Darbi Hardin of Morehead, Kentucky; two great grandsons – Granger and Greyson Hampton of Vanceburg, Kentucky; three sisters – Leota Bauer of Ripley, Ohio, June Paul of Russellville, Ohio and Bonnie Miller of Ripley, Ohio; three brothers – Jerry Miller of Ripley, Ohio, Ronnie Miller of Portsmouth, Ohio and Bob Miller of Carlisle, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Pastor Tom Cox, Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the funeral home. Military Honors will follow the funeral service on Saturday and will be provided by the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 of Ripley. Cremation will follow the services.
