Lowell W. Walker, D.V.M., age 91, of Centerville, Ohio, formerly of Georgetown, Ohio died Thursday, October 19, 2006 at the Bethany Lutheran Village in Centerville, Ohio. He was born on August 9, 1915 the son of the late Harry G. and Blanche (McClung) Walker. He was a 1941 graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in agriculture and taught for two years at Georgetown High School. He was a world War 2 Army veteran and was assigned to the veterinary corps, he then completed his degree in veterinary medicine at The Ohio State University in 1945. Dr. Walker practiced veterinary medicine for thirty-two years until his retirement in 1977. After retirement he was a food service inspector for the Brown County Health Department for eleven years and taught at the Southern Hills Joint Vocational School and Southern State Community College. Dr. Walker's love of music led him to play in The Ohio State University marching band and the Army Company band during college. Later he played in the Syrian Shrine Temple band of Cincinnati as well as the Liberty and Maysvillle Community bands. Dr. Walker was a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church, New Harmony Masonic Lodge, Brown County Scottish Rite, Royal Arch Masons, Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180, Zanes Trace antique car club, the OSU Alumni Marching Band, the Brown County Historical Society and the Syrian Shrine.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Connor and one brother, Clyde Walker. Dr. Walker is survived by his wife - Ada (Cahall) Walker, they were married on November 25, 1943; three children - Jo Ann Hubbard and husband Bud of Denver, Colorado, Tim Walker and wife Nancy of Thomasville, Georgia and Susan Rickert and husband Bill of Bellbrook, Ohio; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one sister - Berneda Philips of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 22, 2006 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Saturday. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio with veteran services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post#180. If desired, memorials may be made to the Georgetown Presbyterian Church, 401 S. Main Street, Georgetown, Ohio 45121 or to the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180, 1001 S. Main Street, Georgetown, Ohio 45121.
