Mary Ruth Blanton

Mary Ruth Blanton, age 81 of Ripley, Ohio died Sunday, December 21, 2008 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ripley, Ohio. She was retired from the U.S. Shoe factory in Ripley, Ohio. Mary was born on September 28, 1927 in Moorefield, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Alec and Stella (Lyman) Wright. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Franklin Blanton in 1985; two children - Shirley Haggard and Charlie Aker; two brothers - Bill and Jay Wright and four sisters - Frances Medley, Elisabeth Mitchell, Clara Hyden and Catherine Cundiff.

Mrs. Blanton is survived by three children - Stella Faulkner and husband Wendell and Loretta Snyder and husband Bill, all of Ripley, Ohio and Frank Aker and wife Linda of Russellville, Ohio; five grandchildren - Joyce Rickey of Russellville, Ohio; Brian Haggard of Elsmere, Kentucky; Angie King of Russellville, Ohio; Jason Faulkner of Columbus, Ohio and Kenny Aker of Georgetown, Ohio; four great-grandchildren - Ashton Rickey, Syndi King, Jackson Thomas and Chloe Haggard and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. James Robinson will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00- 9:00 P.M. on Friday, December 26, 2008 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Sandy Springs Cemetery in Sandy Springs, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the Ripley Assembly of God, 1104 S. 2nd Street, Ripley, Ohio 45167 or to the Ohio Valley Manor Activities Fund, 5280 US Route 68, Ripley, Ohio 45167.
