Mary Irene Houston

Mrs. Mary Irene Houston, age 94, of Georgetown, Ohio died Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at her residence. Mrs. Houston donated her body to medical science to repay for a gift of corneas which enabled her to see. She was born in Mowrystown, Ohio on July 19, 1910 the daughter of the late Ed C. and Josie M. (Weaver) Mignerey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Judge John H. Houston, whom she married on March 19, 1930. She was a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church since 1931, active in the choir and part-time organist for over 45 years. She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #180, early member of the Eastern Star and Georgetown Research Club, member and volunteer of the Brown County General Hospital and former Treasurer for the Village of Georgetown.

Mrs. Houston is survived by two children - Mary Jo Houston Grimes of Richardson, Texas and John Edward Houston of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren - Steven Grimes, Mark Grimes, Kim Grimes Winterhalter, David Houston, Todd Houston and Jill Houston Cholmondeley; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 18, 2004 at the Presbyterian Church in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the Georgetown Presbyterian Church 401 S. main Street, Georgetown, Ohio 45121 or the Georgetown Life Squad, Mt. Orab Pike, Georgetown, Ohio 45121.
