Michael Donald Proffitt

Michael Donald Proffitt, age 64 of Peebles, Ohio died Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, Ohio. Mr. Proffitt was retired from the United States Air Force, a Vietnam War and Desert Storm veteran.  Michael was born September 3, 1950 in London, Kentucky the son of the late Gilbert and Ruby (Kemper) Proffitt. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers – Denny and Larry Proffitt.

Mr. Proffitt is survived by his wife – Donna Jean (Hedge) Proffitt, whom he married July 7, 2007; three children – Carrie Delacruz and husband Nilo of Silverdale, Washington, Angela Phelps and husband Darryl of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Jeremy Ernst of Roseburg, Oregon; five grandchildren – Zachary and wife Destiny, Isaiah and Zoe Delacruz all of Washington, Brittani Landers and husband John of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Casey Phelps of Mt. Orab, Ohio;  four great grandchildren; two sisters – Geraldine Ostendorf and John Workman of Batavia, Ohio and Jeanette Emery and husband Ray of Mt. Orab, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio with military services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180 of Georgetown, Ohio.  Ted House will be officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
