Opal Hauke, age 91 of Ripley, Ohio died Saturday, April 30, 2005 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ripley, Ohio. Mrs. Hauke was a homemaker, a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She was born on July 20, 1913 in Lewis County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Elmer and Edith (Craig) Regenstein. Mrs. Hauke was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, in 1998; four brothers - Kenneth, Delphin, Fontain and Layton Regenstein; two grandchildren - John Mark Hauke and Mary Polley and one great grandchild - Isaac Hauke.
Mrs. Hauke is survived by three sons - Dennis Hauke of Ripley, Ohio; Donald Hauke of Russellville, Ohio and William Hauke of Washington, Kentucky; two daughters - Barbara Polley of Ripley, Ohio and Rosemary Mahoney of Cincinnati, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and three sisters - Hazel Kirk of Ripley, Ohio; Donna Carney of Maysville, Kentucky and Cleo Scott of Columbus, Indiana.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:45 A.M. Tuesday at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to St, Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 16 N. Fourth Street, Ripley, Ohio 45167 or to the Ohio Valley Manor Activities Fund, 5280 US Route 68, Ripley, Ohio 45167.
