Ora Belle Jackson

Mrs. Ora Belle Jackson, age 91 of Ripley, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 17, 2009, at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley, Ohio. She was a homemaker, a member of The Beebe Chapel CME Church in Ripley, where she served as president of the Missionary Society, a member of the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 Auxiliary and the former Berry-Delaney Post #705 and a lifetime member of the DAV. Mrs. Jackson was born July 15, 1918 in Ripley, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Lottie (Hawkins) Rivers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Samuel "Tom" Jackson, in 1989; one brother, John Rivers and infant twin sisters, Lecretia and Juanita.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by five daughters - Terri Lee and husband Danny of Baltimore, Maryland; Roberta Jackson of Ripley, Ohio; Kandy Dudley of Ripley, Ohio; Freda Prather and husband James of Wilmington, Ohio and Harriett Groh and husband Jeffery of Ripley, Ohio; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday September 21, 2009 at The Beebe Chapel CME Church in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. James Settles will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening, September 20 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to The Beebe Chapel, 438 Main Street Ripley, Ohio 45167 or to the Ohio Valley Manor Activities Fund, 5280 U.S. Route 68 Ripley, Ohio 45167.
