Pam Crawford

Pamela Jean Crawford, age 50 of Ripley, Ohio, died Monday, November 17, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She has been a secretary for the Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington School District for over thirty years. Besides being a loyal and devoted secretary, Pam has served the R-U-L-H School District in many other athletic and leadership positions. She has been a junior high, junior varsity and varsity cheerleading coach, junior high softball and track coach, Pep Club sponsor, assistant to the high school girls basketball team, seventh grade volleyball coach for three years, eighth grade volleyball coach for two years, junior varsity volleyball coach for one year and varsity volleyball coach for three years. Most recently, Pam has coached volleyball at Georgetown High School for two years. Over the years Pam has also served as a yearbook advisor, high school prom chaperone and has served on The RULH Scholarship and Crisis Team Committees.

Pam was also very active in the community. She was a member of The Ripley Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday School and served on the Youth Group Committee; she worked with area 4-H clubs; she was a team leader for a Relay for Life team and gave support to efforts for the Kayla Ruark Scholarship.

Pam was born on September 16, 1958 in Maysville, Kentucky, the daughter of Barbara (Starett) Crawford and the late Eddie Gene Crawford, Sr.

In addition to her mother, Pam is survived by three sisters - Paula Hines of Georgetown, Ohio, Teresa Crawford Reid of Ripley, Ohio and Lisa Crawford of Higginsport, Ohio; one brother, Eddie Crawford, Jr.; one niece, Tiffany Hines; three nephews, Nick and Nathaniel Crawford and Cody Reid.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at The Ripley Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Clark Castle will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday, November 21 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Interment will follow the funeral services in Shinkle's Ridge Cemetery, near Higginsport, Ohio.
