Pat Shafer

Pat Shafer, age 85 of Georgetown, Ohio died Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ripley, Ohio. She was born March 24, 1940 in Rosewill, Ohio the daughter of the late Chester Orin and Wava Ruby (Haney) Heim. Pat was a retired cook for the Georgetown Exempted Village School District after 30 years of service. She was a cherished member of the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene, where she actively contributed to her community. Pat found immense joy in spending time with her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren. Her legacy of love and service will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Besides her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years – Carl C. Shafer, Sr. in 2020 whom she married September 21, 1962 and two brothers – William and Robert Heim.

Mrs. Shafer is survived by two sons – Carl Shafer, Jr. and wife Shari of Georgetown, Ohio and Roger Shafer of Georgetown, Ohio; two grandchildren Allison Garbutt and husband Ron of Georgetown, Ohio and Erick Shafer of Loveland, Ohio ; three great grandchildren – Kayla Hallwood and Elijah and Vera Garbutt; two brothers – Delbert Heim of Summerville, South Carolina and Larry Heim of Dresden, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene, 4884 East State Street, Georgetown, Ohio. Ron Garbutt will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Friday at the church. Interment will be in the Brooks Cemetery near Hamersville, Ohio. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown Ohio is serving the family.
