Paul S. Workman, age 87 of Ripley, Ohio, passed away suddenly at his residence on Monday, August 21, 2017. He was born November 21, 1929 in Robertson County, Kentucky the son of the late Elmer and Phoebie (Doyle) Workman. He moved to Ripley in 1944 and lived the rest of his life on Pisgah Ridge near Ripley.
Mr. Workman was a United States Army Korean War Veteran and served as a military police officer in Tokyo, Japan. Upon his return to the United States, he joined the Carpenters Union and was also a lifelong farmer.
Mr. Workman is survived by his loving wife of nearly sixty-six years – Joan (Spiller) Workman, whom he married on September 25, 1951; five daughters – Linda Rice (Mike) of Ripley, Ohio, Theresa Johnson (Don) of Maryville, Tennessee, Janet Malone (Jim) of Ripley, Ohio, Arlene Crum (Bruce) of Georgetown, Ohio and Karen Fultz (Steve Swearingen) of Ripley, Ohio; nine grandchildren – Caleb Rice, Ashley (Rice) Reindel, Matthew Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Kari Malone, Luke Malone, Neil Malone, Holli Fultz and Justin Fultz; eight great-grandchildren – Caleigh, Ava, Elizabeth, Connor, Cade, Cali, Braxton and Carter; one sister – Wanda Courtney of Dayton, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, August 25 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 367 of Ripley, Ohio.
