Pauline Mae Greene, age 79 of Georgetown, Ohio, died Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Brown County Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. She was a retired F.H.A. teacher in the Western Brown School District and had taught at the Little Miami and Felicity Schools as well. Pauline was also a 4-H Advisor, a member of the Georgetown United Methodist Church, Georgetown United Methodist Women's Association, GEVS Band Boosters Past President and was retired from the Ohio Education Association, National Education Association, Brown County Education Association, South West Ohio Education Association and the Brown County Retired Teachers Association. She was born on July 13, 1929 in West Manchester, Ohio, the daughter of the late Alvah and Velma (Eshelman) Rogers. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Ritz and Shirley Bussard.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Chester Greene, whom she married June 14, 1959; three children - Dana Greene of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; Glen Greene of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and Janice Greene of Johnson City, Tennessee; five grandchildren; two brothers - Robert Rogers of Greenville, Ohio and Donnie Rogers of Arcanum, Ohio and two sisters - Kathleen Phillips of Arcanum, Ohio and Margaret Robinson of West Covina, California.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Georgetown United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at the church. Funeral Services will also be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Salt Lick Christian Church in Salt Lick, Kentucky with visitation from 12:00 P.M. until the time of services. Interment will be in the Polksville Cemetery in Bath County, Kentucky. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Ohio River Valley Chapter, 7124 Miami Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45243. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio and the Powell Funeral Home in Salt Lick, Kentucky are serving the family.
