Philip Lynn Perry, age 63 of Renton, Washington and formerly of Brown County, Ohio passed away May 16, 2011 in Renton, Washington following a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma and COPD, with his wife, Jeannie, by his side.
Phil was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, November 3, 1947, the son of the late Homer Hewitt Perry and Martha Van Gilder Perry of Maysville, Kentucky. In his early years, his family moved to Sardinia Ohio, where he spent his childhood. He served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1970, and was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He enjoyed a thirty-five year career in the healthcare industry, beginning with a job as data processing manager at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Most recently, he worked as the Chief Information Officer at Valley Medical Center, in Renton, Washington.
Phil had many interests: politics, history, nature, and sports were just a few. He was an avid golfer, and loved skiing, hiking, boating, camping, traveling, and reading. Most of all, he enjoyed his family, especially spending time with his three grandchildren. Phil excelled in his career, and had a talent for making everyone feel special. In describing Phil, "Carpe Diem" is a most fitting phrase.
Phil is survived by his wife, Jeannie, of Renton, Washington; his daughter Nikkia (Jacob) Scherrer and grandchildren Aidan, Sophia, and Quinn, of O'Fallon, Illinois; his mother, Martha V. Perry and sister, Barbara (William) Hauke, of Maysville, Kentucky, niece Carrie Cathers and daughter Olivia, of Lexington, Kentucky; nephew Christopher (Ambor Bends) Hauke and sons Liam and Colin, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and nephew Drew Hauke, of Maysville, Kentucky. He also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
