Ralph Martin Gaither, age 86 of Manchester, Ohio, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley, Ohio.  He was a farmer, he worked at the Bank of Maysville for twenty-eight years, where he was V.P. of the installment loan department and worked at Ashland Oil for ten years as a truck driver and bookkeeper.  He was also a lifelong member and Deacon at the Aberdeen Baptist Church in Aberdeen, Ohio and served as a trustee for Hiett’s Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Gaither was a devoted husband, brother and son and a loving father and grandfather.  He had a very generous heart and was a genuine, hardworking, kind and extremely self-less gentleman.  He was born February 14, 1931 in Huntington Township, Ohio the son of the late Lee M. and Mary L. (Cooper) Gaither.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Lena Leota (Jones) Gaither in 2003; one granddaughter - Sarah Beth Gaither and a sister-in-law – Doris Gaither.

Mr. Gaither is survived by one daughter – Rosemary Gentry and husband Charles of LaGrange, Kentucky; one son – Randy Gaither and wife Ninette of Louisville, Kentucky; four grandchildren – Matt Gaither of Louisville, Kentucky, Doug Towler of Friendswood, Texas, Rebecca Morgan of Louisville, Kentucky and Brian Towler of Louisville, Kentucky; seven great grandchildren; one brother – Wilbur Gaither of Ripley, Ohio and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Aberdeen Baptist Church in Aberdeen, Ohio.  Pastor Phillip Huffman will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday March 27, 2017 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio and from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 28 at Aberdeen Baptist Church.  Interment will follow the funeral service in Charter Oak Cemetery in Aberdeen, Ohio.
