Ralph P. Goslin, age 89 of Georgetown, Ohio died Monday, January 12, 2015 at the La Loma Care Center in Litchfield Park, Arizona. Mr. Goslin was a 1943 graduate of Georgetown High School, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180, a farmer, an Artificial Insemination Technician (AI Tech) for the Central Ohio Breeding Association (COBA) for thirty years, owner and operator along with his wife Laura, of Studio III Ceramics, former caretaker of the Brown County fairgrounds and a former mail carrier for the US postal service. He was a founding member of the Gaslight Theatre and the Gaslight Players in Georgetown, Ohio, played for the Steelers semi-pro basketball team in the late 1940's, was an avid baseball and softball player for many years and was named the Grand Marshall of the 2008 Brown County Fair. Ralph was born December 15, 1925 in Georgetown, Ohio the son of the late Bennie Paul and Lelia Mae (Prather) Goslin.
Mr. Goslin is survived by his wife of sixty-six years - Laura M. (Grierson) Goslin whom he married July 29, 1948; one son - R. Russell Goslin of Goodyear, Arizona; one daughter - Jennifer Cahall and husband Ken of Georgetown, Ohio; six grandchildren - Nick Goslin, Brooke Clayton and husband Brandon, Sara Dunn and husband Sam, Dylan Hopkins, Rebecca Cahall and Clayton Cahall; six great grandchildren - Morgan Meranda and fiance. Tyler Schwarber, Haley Meranda, Alexis Cahall and McKenna, Connor and Braxton Clayton; one sister - Betty Schatzman of Georgetown, Ohio and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends both in Ohio and Arizona.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Scott Hennig will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Monday, January 19, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio with veteran services by the Carey-Bavis American Legion Post #180 of Georgetown, Ohio.
