She was an accountant for ABCAP in Georgetown, Ohio for twenty-six years and a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Arnheim, Ohio. Rebecca was born August 23, 1954 in Georgetown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Whiley E. and Anna Margaret (Kress) Sawyers.
