Regina Gail (Harmon) Smith, 51 of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky.

She was born June 6, 1974 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky the daughter of the late Barbara Sue Harmon and Byrom McClain, Jr.

Regina was a kindergarten teacher at Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington Elementary School for twenty-four years and served the past six years as the elementary school counselor. During her time at R-U-L-H Elementary School she served as a committee member for PBIS (Gold Rating), District Leadership Team, Building Leadership Team, Veterans Day, Grandparents Day Celebration, MTSS Leadership Team, Success by Six and PATHS. Regina served as coordinator for career and college day, food pantry, care closet, red ribbon week, community service and shop with a cop. She was also a after school tutor and volunteered with shoes for the shoeless.

Regina is survived by her loving husband of thirty years – Ryan Smith; her cherished sons – Morgan Maxwell Smith and Gavan Garrett Smith; mother-in-law - Julia Warner; two brothers-in-law - Michael Smith and wife Michelle (their children Abby and Tori) and James Warner; uncle – Everett Harmon, Jr.; cousins – James Harmon and wife Stacey (their children Xander and Madalyn) and Danielle Harmon; many colleagues and dear friends.

Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
