Rev. James Otis Johnson, age 86, of Georgetown, Ohio died Thursday, September 16, 2004 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rev. Johnson was a pastor in the Southern Baptist Churches for 43 years. He was faithful to God and helped others find Jesus. He was born in Estill County, Kentucky on August 27, 1918 the son of the late James William and Minnie Frances (Crow) Johnson. He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Johnson, one daughter, Rita Smith, 2 grandchildren, one brother, Claude Johnson and one sister, Susie Kennedy.
Rev. Johnson is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Margaret (Millson) Johnson, whom he married on June 5, 1943 in Thatcham-Berks, England; eight sons - James Johnson and wife Diane of Georgetown, Ohio, Jerry Johnson and wife Debbie of Montgomery, Alabama, William Johnson and wife Jewel of Georgetown, Ohio, Don Johnson and wife Theresa of Mansfield, Ohio, Wayne Johnson and wife Diane of Georgetown, Ohio, Ron Johnson and wife Karen of Georgetown, Ohio, Tom Johnson of Arkansas, and Mike Johnson of Williamsburg, Ohio; four daughters - Janet Mitchell and husband Fred of Felicity, Ohio, Barb Boshears and husband Rick of Feesburg, Ohio, Mary Barthel and husband Michael of New Vienna, Ohio and Susie Skeens and husband Darrell of Hillsboro, Ohio; one daughter-in-law - Scherrill Johnson and one son-in-law - Jim Smith; 32 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and three sisters - Jesse Tuggle of Irvine, Kentucky, Nancy Wilson of Ashland, Kentucky and Laura Rouvelle of Hamilton, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 20, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 12 - 2 P.M. Monday. Interment will be in Confidence Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the Crisis Pregnancy Resource Center, 201 E. Grant Ave., Georgetown, OH 45121.
