Richard Nehus, Sr.

Richard Edward Nehus, Sr., age 67 of Georgetown, Ohio died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a deputy for the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, a United States Vietnam War Army Veteran, a member of the St. George Catholic Church in Georgetown, Ohio, the Carey-Bavis American Legion Post #180 in Georgetown, Ohio, the VFW Post #7496 and the Knights of Columbus.  Richard was born August 31, 1947 in Georgetown, Ohio the son of Pauline Tracy of Georgetown, Ohio and the late Edward Nehus.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Nehus is survived by his wife of 26 years -  Sandy (Otis) Nehus whom he married December 31, 1988; one son – Richard Eddie Nehus, Jr. of Hamersville, Ohio; one daughter – Chrisendra Freeman of Loveland, Ohio; one step daughter – Patty Stansberry of Georgetown, Ohio; one step son – Richard Nehus of Ohio; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren and one brother – Jerry Nehus of Georgetown, Ohio.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the St. George Catholic Church, 501 E. State Street, Georgetown, Ohio.  Rev. Dohrman Byers will be the celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Linwood Cemetery in Russellville, Ohio with veteran’s services by the Carey-Bavis American Legion Post #180 of Georgetown, Ohio.
