Richard Lee Swope, Jr., age 48 of Fizzleville, Ohio died Sunday, March 22, 2009 as a result of an airplane accident near his home. He was a Diesel Repair Mechanic for the City of Maysville, Kentucky and R & S Enterprises, which he owned and operated with his wife. He was a member and director of the Brown County Agricultural Society and attended the Ebeneezer United Methodist Church. Mr. Swope was born January 24, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Richard Lee Swope, Sr. and the late Wilma Aileen (Garrett) Swope.
Mr. Swope is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Sara L. (Melvin) Swope; two daughters, Elizabeth Swope and fiancAC. Mark Honigman of Fizzleville, Ohio; Katherine Stevens and husband Travis of Fizzleville, Ohio; one son - Joshua Swope and fiancAC.e Bethany Howard of Fizzleville, Ohio; one granddaughter - Grace Ellen; his father and beloved step-mother - Richard and Virginia Swope; four sisters - Vickie (Dan) Meid of Cincinnati, Ohio; Valerie Edwards of Mt. Orab, Ohio; Brenda (Rick) Adams of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Barbara (Dave) Longworth of Chilo, Ohio; one brother - Michael Swope of Aberdeen, Ohio; one step-sister - Ginifer (Chris) Swofford of Batavia, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews and in=laws.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 27, 2009 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Ken Harmon will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hiett's Chapel Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to: The Brown Co. Junior Fair Board, 740 Mt.
