Robert C. Daugherty, age 81 of Georgetown, Ohio died Friday, February 27, 2009 at his residence. He was a pressman for the News Democrat and the Hillsboro Gazette, a farmer and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Georgetown, Ohio, the Georgetown Masonic Lodge F&AM #72 and the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Hillsboro Chapter # 40. Bob was born on November 4, 1927 in Higginsport, Ohio, the son of the late James Robert and Gladys (Purdy) Daugherty. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant brother and two infant sisters.
Mr. Daugherty is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Doris (West) Daugherty; two daughters - Donna Salvo and husband J.R. and Deanna Clark all of Georgetown, Ohio; three grandchildren - Adam Clark and wife Claudia of Georgetown, Ohio; Aaron Clark of Mt.Orab, Ohio and Aimee Bishop and husband Tony of Jonesboro, Georgia; six great-grandchildren - Austin and Tyler Bishop, Carlee and Cailen Clark and Ashley and Hayley Clark; one brother-in-law - Carl Utter of Georgetown, Ohio and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. Katherine M. Caleago, chaplain with Crossroads Hospice, will officiate. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery with Masonic services by the F&AM #72 Lodge and veteran's services provided by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Crossroads Hospice, 4360 Glendale-Milford Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242,the Georgetown Life Squad, 850 Mt.Orab Pike, Georgetown, Ohio or to the donor's choice. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
