Robert "Bob" Weigel

Robert “Bob” David Weigel, age 66 of Batavia, Ohio passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the Hospice of Cincinnati-East Inpatient Care Center in Anderson Township, Ohio surrounded by his loved ones. He was born March 24, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Paul and Shirley (Wash) Smith. Bob was the proud owner and operator of Weigel Auto Service in Deer Park, Ohio. His remarkable skills as a mechanic allowed him to work on anything with a motor and he had a reputation for being able to fix anything he touched. He found great joy in spending time in his shop, surrounded by his tools and the familiar scent of oil and grease. Bob had a passion for riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed collecting various types of memorabilia. Known for his fun-loving and free-spirited nature, Bob was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends, strangers and animals alike. Friendship held a special place in his heart and he deeply cherished the memories and adventures he shared with his friends over the years. Above all, family was paramount to Bob and his grandchildren were his greatest joy. He will be remembered fondly for his kindness, generosity and the love he shared with those around him. Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one son – David Weigel in 2021, one brother – Ed Smith, two sisters – Tonja Miller and Linda Smith, four brothers-in-law – Phillip Corbin, Bob Trainor, Bob Miller and Grover Puckett and one sister-in-law- Sherry Weigel.

Mr. Weigel is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 30 years - Elaine (Corbin) Weigel; three children – Katie Barnwell and husband Brian of Harlan Township, Ohio; Matt Weigel and wife Erin of Spring Hill, Florida and Christopher Pennington and fiancé Sarah Ankrom of Edgewood, Kentucky; nine grandchildren – Kaine, Bobby Ray, Carolina, Kayden, Liam, Carter, Cole, Claire and Jack; eight brothers and sisters – Mary Ann Lefker and husband Tom, Sonja Puckett, Mike Weigel, Carol Trainor, April Mullens and husband Bill, Diana Smith, Faith Maupin and husband David and Walter Smith and wife Jean; one brother-in-law – Alan Corbin and wife Carolyn; five fur babies – Titan, Ruby, Lizzy, Sammy and Bella and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Following cremation, a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date. Information will be updated when date, time and location are available. The Cahall Funeral Home in Mt.Orab, Ohio is serving the family.
