Rosalie Ballein

Rosalie Ballein, age 84 of Mt. Orab, Ohio passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 at her residence. She was born October 25, 1941 in Brown County, Ohio the daughter of the late Scott and Pauline (Ridings) Snider. Rosalie was a cherished member of the Buford Church of Christ, where she found community and fellowship throughout her life. She had a deep passion for travel, especially to sunny Florida, where she embraced the joys of life as a snowbird. Rosalie was also an avid gardener, finding joy and fulfillment in planting flowers and nurturing her garden. Her green thumb brought beauty not only to her home but also to the lives of those around her. Above all else, she treasured the moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by them forever. Her legacy will continue through the love she shared and the lives she touched. Rosalie will be remembered not only for her fondness of travel and gardening but also for the warmth and kindness she radiated throughout her life. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years – Carl Gene Ballein in 2025 and one sister – Shirley White in 2004.

Mrs. Ballein is survived by three children - Carla Royalty and Sean Crawford of Georgetown, Ohio, Daniel Ballein and wife Ann Marie of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Tim Ballein of Mt. Orab, Ohio; seven grandchildren - Jennifer Metcalfe and husband Jamey of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lindsey Grenner and husband Richard of Felicity, Ohio, Megan Ruhl and husband Adam of Cincinnati, Ohio, Devin Royalty of Ripley, Ohio, Britny McKibben and husband Justin of Cincinnati, Ohio, Scott Ballein of Bethel, Ohio and Kelsey Crawford of North Carolina; three step grandchildren – Derick, Alicia and Nickolas; seven great-grandchildren - Braxton, Isaac, Kylie, Leah, Camden, Lucas and Lincoln and two sisters - Paula Rankin and husband Steve of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Donna Tackett of Seaman, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Mt. Orab Church of Christ in Mt. Orab, Ohio. Matt Strunk will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Mt. Orab Cemetery in Mt. Orab, Ohio. The Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio is serving the family.
