Ruby Hanson

Ruby Etoyle Hanson, age 87 of Georgetown, Ohio died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center in Seaman, Ohio. She was a homemaker, farmer, volunteer for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, original mother mom and member of the Shamans Family Social Club Motorcycle ministry and a seamstress. She made lots of beautiful wedding gowns, dresses, coats and many different colors of clothes and afghans. Ruby was a proud stubborn Southern Mississippi Lady. Her Indian and Irish temper would let you know that she right.

Ruby was born February 3, 1927 in a shanty town of Beat 1 Washington, Mississippi the daughter of the late Christopher Butler McCool, who was a Chickasaw Indian with the Indian name of Butter Wolf and Luttie Letha McCool, who was a Cherokee Indian with the Indian name of Bitter Root. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband – Charles Lee Hanson in 1991, one son – Roy Vachial Hanson, twin infant sons, five brothers – Everett, Malen “Nolen”, Roscoe, Harland Brooks “H.B.” and Aaron McCool and two sisters – Juanita Brewer and Jewell Corley.

Mrs. Hanson is survived by one son – Christopher Hanson and wife Roxanne of Georgetown, Ohio; one daughter – Donna Marie Prichard; nine grandchildren – Terry, Kristen, Cody, Eric, Anita, Andrea, Jessie, Nickie and Crystal ; three great-grandchildren – Carey, Kevin and Courtney and seventy-one nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt.Orab, Ohio. Mike Starkey will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mt. Herman Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Ohio at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 2, 2014.
