Ruth Louise Brown

Ruth Louise Brown, age 87 of Georgetown, Ohio, died Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the Villa Georgetown in Georgetown, Ohio. She was a former secretary for the Georgetown Exempted Village Schools, Clerk for the Franklin Township Trustees, and retired after eighteen years as a deputy clerk for the Brown County Clerk of Courts office. She was a member of the Carey Bavis American Legion Post 180 Auxiliary, Wilson Sroufe VFW Post 9772 Auxiliary and charter member of the Public Employees Retirement System, Inc. Ruth was born on November 22, 1920 in Arnheim, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred L. and Lola Pearl (Wardlow) Shafer. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lynn Brown in 1986 and two sisters - Verda Mary Tilford and Thelma Eileen McCall.

Mrs. Brown is survived by one daughter - Patty Brown of Amelia, Ohio; one son - Rick Brown and wife Darla of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren - Jennifer, Adam and Nicholas Brown; one sister - Loretta Ernst and husband Roger of Georgetown, Ohio and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday with services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post 180 Auxiliary at 7:45 P.M.. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
