Sharon Louise Penny, age 81 of Georgetown, Ohio died Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ripley, Ohio. Mrs. Penny was a devoted homemaker and cherished member of the Faith Community Church. Throughout her life, she found joy in nurturing children, particularly her beloved grandchildren. Her warm spirit and dedication to family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Sharon was born December 18, 1943 in Ripley, Ohio the daughter of the late Ralph Emerson and Nora Mae (Gray) Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by two brothers – Ronald and Elmer Mitchell, her in – laws – Virgil and Opal Penny and brother-in-law – Robert Penny.
Mrs. Penny is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years – Virgil Penny, whom she married May 5, 1968; one daughter – Carolyn Penny of Georgetown, Ohio; two sons – Ralph Penny and wife Nicole of Georgetown, Ohio and Tony Penny and wife Delana of Mason, Ohio; nine grandchildren – Andy and wife Katelin, Emily, Stephanie, Jordan, Sawyer, Reagan, Kolby, Kristina and Lainia; four great grandsons – Henry, Wesley, Ledger and Wayne; seven sisters-in-law – Dorothy Penny of Hamersville, Ohio, Linda Newberry and husband Dwayne of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Dorlene Fields and husband James of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Rosey Barber and husband Roger of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Joanne Barber and husband Dale of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Carolyn Penny of Hamersville, Ohio and Phyllis Mitchell of Georgetown, Ohio and many nieces, nephews, friends and church family.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio Sam Talley and Chuck Gray will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Thursday. Interment will be in the Linwood Cemetery in Russellville, Ohio.
