Sonny Bradford

Orval Lawrence “Sonny” Bradford, 79 of Ripley, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio. He worked at Pepsi in Ripley for eighteen years, Steelcraft in Cincinnati for eleven years, Mac Tool in Georgetown for four years and Ripley Metalworks in Ripley for two years. He was a United States Air Force Vietnam War Era Veteran, a member of American Legion Post 367 in Ripley and a member of the Centenary Methodist Church in Ripley. Sonny was born March 15, 1946 in Wamsley, Ohio the son of the late Russell “Spinx” and Edith Marie (Wamsley) Bradford. He was also preceded in death by his son – Brian Bradford, his grandson – Joseph Blum and a brother – Bob Bradford.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years – Jean Bradford; daughter – Jodi Blum of Ripley, Ohio; two granddaughters – Kaitlynn Blum and Breanna Blum; one sister – Judy West (Mike) of Ripley, Ohio; three brothers – Larry Bradford (Pat) of Ripley, Ohio, Sam Bradford (Helen) of Georgetown, Ohio and Steve Bradford (Kathe) of Ripley, Ohio; many nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at the Centenary Methodist Church in Ripley, Ohio. Pastor Al Bolte will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church. Interment will follow the funeral service in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley.
