Thomas David Tumbleson
August 9, 1943 — August 1, 2010
Thomas David Tumbleson, age 66 of Aberdeen, Ohio, died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at his residence. He was a retired custodian from St. Michaels School and Church and also a former bus driver for the R-U-L-H School District. Mr. Tumbleson was a United States Marine Corp. Vietnam War Veteran, past commander of the Brown Co. American Legion, past commander of the Courts Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 in Ripley, Ohio, commander of the DAV in Ripley and a member of the VFW in Maysville, Kentucky. He was also an honorable Kentucky Colonel, a life member of the Columbus Muzzle Loading Gun Club, a member of the Bill Moose Gun Club and a member of the North American Hunting Club. He loved working with wood and building muzzle loaders.
Mr. Tumbleson was born August 9, 1943 in Ripley, Ohio, the son of the late James Hazelbaker and Ruth Tumbleson.
Mr. Tumbleson is survived by his loving wife of thirty eight years - Sue (Smith) Tumbleson; five daughters - Pamela Barbiera and husband Danny of Texas; Cathy Tumbleson of Hamilton, Ohio; Tara Wagner and husband Jamie of Ash Ridge, Ohio; Teresa Fisher and husband Jimmy of Decatur, Ohio and Latessa Lewis and husband Gade of Maysville, Kentucky; one son - Thomas Wade Tumbleson of Mt. Orab, Ohio; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters - Carol Hazelbaker of Amelia, Ohio; Barbara Lainhart and husband Billy of Ripley, Ohio; Becky Hurley and husband Danny of Ripley, Ohio; and Cheryl Cooper and husband Ty of Ash Ridge, Ohio; one brother - James Hazelbaker and wife Mary Jane of Maysville, Kentucky; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Following the memorial service, military honors will be provided by the Courts Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 of Ripley, Ohio.
