Tom Klump

Tom Klump, age 77 of Ripley, Ohio died Sunday, April 6, 2008 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a service man for the Ripley Gas Company and was the owner of the Ripley Coin Laundries. Tom served thirty-nine years on the Ripley Volunteer Fire Department from 1956-1991, serving as the fire chief from 1971-1991. He was an active member of the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio, a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, co-creator of the Citizens Concerns for Youth Program, an United States Army Korean War Veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association. He was born on November 25, 1930 in Ripley, Ohio the son of the late Carl and Florence (Peraut) Klump. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother - Bill Klump and one daughter in-law - Helen Klump.

Mr. Klump is survived by his wife of nearly fifty-two years, Mary C. (Downing) Klump of Ripley, Ohio; five children- Teresa Davis and husband Ronnie and Mark Klump and wife Karen all of Russellville, Ohio; Jeff Klump and wife Patty of Villa Hills, Kentucky and David Klump and FiancAC. Maria Day and Susan Klump all of Ripley, Ohio; eight grandchildren- Kurt Davis, Amy Davis, Heather Boldman and husband Jeremy, Adam, Mollie, Matthew and Emily Klump and Trevor Pfeffer; one sister - Carol Groh of Ripley, Ohio and one brother - Jim Klump of Ripley, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday. April 9, 2008 at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. James Schmitmeyer will be the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 9:00P.M. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio with prayer services at 7:30 P.M. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery with veterans services by the Courts Fussnecker American Legion Post #367. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Ripley Fire Department, 119 Water Works Road, Ripley, Ohio 45167 or to the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church or School, 16 North 4th Street, Ripley, Ohio 45167.
