Tracy Rene Hackler, 60, of Madison, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born on November 23, 1965, in Toledo, Ohio, to Lowell Omar Thomas and Linda Lee Thomas (Myers). She was preceded in death by her parents; her paternal grandparents, Omar Thomas and Gladys Thomas (May); and her maternal grandparents, Hinton "Murphy" McLain and Jerolene "Jerry" McLain (Dotson).
After graduating from Ripley-Union-Lewis High School in Ripley, Ohio, in 1984, Tracy began a life of adventure, traveling the world with her husband, Randall "Randy" Hackler, during his service in the United States Army. Together they built a beautiful life filled with adventure, unconditional love, and unwavering devotion to one another and to their family over 41 years of marriage.
Tracy dedicated much of her life to serving others. She worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc. (HEMSI) and volunteered with her local Search and Rescue team, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Randall "Randy" Hackler of Madison, Alabama; her daughter, Rebekah Hackler of Carencro, Louisiana, and her children, Jadon and Jarrett; her son, Seth Hackler and his wife, Brittany, of Greenwood, Indiana, and their daughters, Shaylynn and McKenna; her son, Adam Hackler and his wife, Melissa, of Elkmont, Alabama, and their children, Kaylee and Jordan; and her daughter, Jherika Crooks (Hackler) and her husband, Torrance Crooks, of Athens, Alabama, and their children, Isley and Atreus.
Over the years, Tracy also helped raise siblings Kaitlyn Tarver, Rachel Emens, Cody Lang, and Wyatt DaCruz. She loved and supported each of them as if they were her own, and they remained a cherished part of her family throughout her life. She also cherished the next generation of their families: Bella, Everly, Kross, Gracie, Brayson, Raelynn, and Willow.
Tracy was the oldest of four sisters and is also survived by Amanda Yates and her husband, Steve, of North Port, Florida; Sterling Payne and her husband, Michael, of Saint Simons Island, Georgia; and Erin Thomas of Ocala, Florida. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle, Dann and Jill Price of Ripley, Ohio, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Centenary Methodist Church, 110 North 2nd Street, Ripley, Ohio 45167. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, at the church. Interment will follow the funeral service in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley. Family and friends are invited to return to the church for a meal and a time of fellowship immediately following the burial.
