Virginia Sue (Starrett) Davis

Virginia Sue Davis, age 71 of Ripley, Ohio, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at her residence.  Over the years, she had worked for Shoo Zees in Higginsport, Ohio, U.S. Shoe in Ripley, Ohio, U.S. Precision Lens in Amelia, Ohio and eventually retired from 3M Manufacturing in Amelia, Ohio.  Mrs. Davis was born February 23, 1944 in Ripley, Ohio the daughter of the late Elmer Lee and Dorothy Mae (Davenport) Starrett.  She was also preceded in death by her adopted daughter – Mary Ellen Theaderman; two sisters – Bessie Boggs and Eleanor Hornsby; three brothers – Elmer Lee, Franklin and William P. Starrett.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years – Lowell Edward Davis; five children – Bryan E. Davis and wife Tara, Lawrence A. Davis and Kelly S. Scott, all of Ripley, Ohio, Lowell J. Davis and wife Jessica and Landon J. Davis of Fayetteville, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four sisters – Mary Becraft and husband Herman of Georgetown, Ohio, Barbara Crawford of Higginsport, Ohio, Linda O’Cull and husband Eldon of Russellville, Ohio and Sharon McCray and husband J.C. of Georgetown, Ohio.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.
