Walter David Kress, age 85 of Sardinia, Ohio died Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Care Center in Seaman, Ohio. He was retired from the Dairy Industry, was a United States Korean War Marine veteran and a member of the George A. Lambert American Legion Post #755 in Sardinia, Ohio and the Peace Lutheran Church in Arnheim, Ohio. Walter was born May 16, 1931 in Georgetown, Ohio the son of the late Charles and Georgia (Combs) Kress. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters – Ann Margret Sawyers, Henry Kress, Earl Robert Kress, Edith Foster and Eleanor Kress.

Mr. Kress is survived by his wife of sixty-four years – Marlene (McQuitty) Kress, whom he married March 6, 1952;  two children – Jeffrey Kress and wife Judy and Amy Beyer and husband Clyde all of Sardinia, Ohio; four grandchildren – Beth Kress of Sardinia, Ohio, Janie Pearcy and husband Anthony of Mt.Orab, Ohio, Sarah Kress of Batavia, Ohio and Ely Beyer of Tucson, Arizona; five great grandchildren – Foster and Easton Simpson and Lydia, Cullen and Larissa Pearcy and one sister – Rebecca Daley of Mt. Washington, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Peace Lutheran Church, 10581 Day Hill-Arnheim Road, Georgetown, Ohio 45121. Pastor Tim Swanson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the church. Interment will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery with military services by the Sardinia American Legion Post #755 of Sardinia, Ohio. The Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio is serving the family.
