Wayne Creighton Adkins, age 73 of Feesburg, Ohio passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026 after a short illness at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born February 16, 1953 in Georgetown, Ohio the son of the late Buster and Annie (Simcox) Adkins. Wayne was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend whose kindness, laughter and steady presence touched everyone who knew him. A passionate musician, he was the bass player for the classic rock band, "Last Shot." His steady rhythm and love of music brought songs to life and created lasting memories for all who had the pleasure of hearing him play. Beyond the stage, Wayne was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He worked at Fisher Body, in construction and spent many years serving as a custodian for Hamersville Elementary and Middle School, where he took great pride in his work and the community he served. Above all else, Wayne was a devoted "Poppy" to his three granddaughters. They were the heart of his world and his love for them was unwavering. He cherished every moment with them, encouraged them in all they did and had a special way of making each of them feel deeply loved and valued. Wayne will be deeply missed by his family, friends, bandmates and everyone whose life he touched. He will be remembered not only for the music he played, but for the love he shared, the example he set and the countless lives he enriched - especially as a loving Poppy. In one final act of selfless generosity, Wayne chose to be an organ donor, giving the gift of life to three fortunate recipients. His legacy of compassion and giving will live on through them, a lasting reflection of the generous heart that defined his life. Besides his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by one sister – Charlotte Taylor.

Mr. Adkins is survived by his loving wife of 36 years – Debbie (Fite) Adkins whom her married February 14, 1990, together they shared a life filled with music, laughter, hard work and love; two children – Dale Adkins and wife Caitlin of Versailles, Kentucky and Aimee Downing and husband Robert of Mt.Orab, Ohio; three granddaughters – Emory Adkins and Alice and Rubie Downing; two sisters – Susie Long of Bethel, Ohio and Esther Henderson of Mt.Orab, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Rick Cooper will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Ash Ridge Cemetery in Ash Ridge, Ohio.
