Wendell I. Evans, age 93 of Ripley, Ohio, died Sunday, March 1 at Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio surrounded by members of his family. He was born October 13, 1915, near Aberdeen, Ohio, the son of the late John I. and Flora Evans. He had a long and distinguished career at Cincinnati, Milacron as a hydraulics project engineer, which included several patents. He was devoted to his family and active in his church, especially with the youth programs.
Wendell was the devoted husband of the late Leah Jane Evans and was also preceded in death by his son Mark G. Evans. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie MacAleese and her husband Bob of Fishers, Indiana; his granddaughter - Heidi Evans of Ripley, Ohio; his grandson - Ken MacAleese and wife Alicia and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Sierra, all of Reno, Nevada. He is also survived by many dear friends in Brown County and Cincinnati.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Jaime Wirth will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to The Centenary United Methodist Church, 110 N. Second Street, Ripley, Ohio 45167 or to The Salvation Army.
